Psychographics and Demographics.

What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience?

Media companies are starting to use psychographics such as the young and rubicam table to break up different types of people in to categories but they use more information to show they are not using controversial stereotypes.

Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics?

They are using audience profiling to widen they audience and increase the amount of people relate to there product and what they advertise leading to more customers and revenue.

What are the seven different Psychographic groups?

1. THE ASPIRER
2. THE REFORMER
3. THE EXPLORER
4. THE MAINSTREAM
5. THE SUCCEEDER
6. THE STRUGGLER
7. THE RESIGNED

Write a brief summary of what each Psychographic group is seeking or motivated by.

The aspirer are people who are driven by others perceptions and status.

The reformer are people who value themselves over anyone and value there judgement.

The explorer are people who love discovery and new challenges, sensations and indulgences in life.

The succeeder are people who are very self confident and believe they hold a lot of responsibility.

The resigned are people who are old fashioned and have strong beliefs they stand by always.

The struggler are people who are victims and losers to alcohol and want to escape their life.

The mainstream are fundamental people who are the mainstream of society and value money.

What psychographic group or groups do YOU belong in? Think about your own interests and lifestyle and explain your decision. Remember, you may fit into two or three different groups!

I believe I belong to the succeeder group and the explorer group since i fit into both perceptions of both.
